Bhubaneswar: Gold deposits have been identified in the Adas-Rampalli area of Deogarh district and the Gopur-Gajipur area of Keonjhar district, informed Steel and Mines Minister, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena in the Odisha Assembly.
The Minister revealed this in a written response to a query by BJP MLA Upasana Mohapatra from Brahmagiri.
Jena informed that G-2 level exploration conducted by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has been completed in Deogarh’s Adas-Rampalli area, yielding promising results.
Similarly, G-3 level exploration in Keonjhar’s Gopur-Gajipur area has produced satisfactory findings, prompting the initiation of G-2 level exploration in the region. This exploration is being carried out by the GSI in collaboration with the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Odisha, the Minister added.
Minister Jena clarified that further steps will be taken based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee, following the submission of the final report by the exploration agencies.
