Bhubaneswar: Habitual offender Amit Swarup Mahapatra alias Shitul alias Amit, son of Maheshwar Mahapatra of the Old Town area under Sri Lingaraj police station in Bhubaneswar, has been prohibited from entering the Old Town area for a period of three months, effective from the date of the Service of Order).
The exterment order against Situl reads, “On behalf of Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police under Odisha Urban Police Act-2003 Section 46(a)(b) a notorious, habitual and professional criminal Shitul alias Amit, aged 30-years-old, son of Maheshwar Mahapatra of Old Town area under Sri Lingaraj police station Bhubaneswar of Khurda.”
It is worth noting here that between 2010 and 2022, five criminal cases were registered against Shitul at the Sri Lingaraj police station and four cases at the Airport police station. Since he is a habitual criminal, Shri Lingaraj police station has already booked him under CrPC-110.
Shitul has committed several crimes by terrorising innocent people by displaying various types of deadly weapons. His presence has allegedly created an atmosphere of fear among the residents of the Sri Lingaraj thana area and among the general public of Bhubaneswar.
