Extremely Heavy Rainfall To Lash Four Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: Extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the districts of Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, and Balasore for today and tomorrow, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As Very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Yaas’ is likely to make landfall by noon of May 26, wind speed of 150-160 kmph gusting 180 kmph is expected over the above-mentioned districts tomorrow.

Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khorda, and Puri today, the IMD added.

Meanwhile, Great Danger Signal No.10 (GD10) has been hoisted at Paradip and Dhamra Ports, Great Danger Signal No. 8 (GD8) at Puri Port, and Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 (LC3) at Gopalpur Port of Odisha.
