Bolangir: The district education officer (DEO) of Odisha’s Bolangir district on Friday terminated the services of four teachers who had submitted fake educational certificates to get government jobs.
The sacked teachers include Sanjit Pani Mahanand, Mrinmayi Panda, Biranchi Prasad Naik, and Alma Topo. All these teachers got jobs on the basis of fake certificates.
Mrinmayi Panda, who has been serving as a teacher since 2013 submitting a fake certificate, was arrested by the police in connection with a fake certificate case on August 10. As per the certificates submitted by Mrinmayi, she passed two exams, including Hindi teacher’s training, in one year.
Meanwhile, the Bolangir DEO has filed written complaints against the four teachers with the local police. Aside from registering separate cases against the accused, the police have written to their banks to freeze their accounts.
