Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police on Friday arrested two persons involved in the fake certificate racket. The accused were identified as Manas Bej and Niranjan Maharana. The duo used to prepare fake certificates for a long time and sell it to students (admission aspirants). According to reports, total eight students have secured admissions in Degree colleges on the strength of fake certificates since 2019.
On the basis of a report, the admission of these 8 students was cancelled by the Higher Education Department, reports stated. Badagada police has arrested the duo and booked them under relevant Sections of the IPC. Preliminary probe revealed that around 40,000 students were provided these fake certificates. The police have seized five of such forged documents so far. Further investigation is on.
