Koraput: The Baipariguda police here on Monday arrested four persons including two women on charges of smuggling ganja. The four persons, posing as two couples were travelling out of the district with the contraband.
A police team led by local IIC Biranchi Narayan Jagat was mounting surveillance in the region following a tip-off. While checking the vehicles, the cops detected 60 kg ganja in gunny bags hung from two motorcycles.
The four persons have been booked and forwarded to judicial custody. The ganja has been seized and sent for a laboratory test. This is a new modus operandi by ganja traders, the police said. Further investigation is on.
