Balasore: Balasore Town Police on Monday detained a fake doctor from the Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital as he was found examining patients and writing prescriptions.
The imposter has been identified as Ajay Bhanj.
Ajay reportedly took his parents for treatment at the hospital, but they had to wait for a long as there huge crowd of patients at the hospital. Unable to see his mother in pain, the accused wrote her prescription and recommended some tests for her. Ajay told the police that he is a medical representative by profession.
On being informed, Balasore Town Police arrived at the hospital and detained the imposter. He is being questioned about his identity, qualifications, and why he was seeing patients and writing prescriptions for patients.
Meanwhile, a similar incident occurred at a Bhadrak hospital early this year. In this case, the imposter dressed like a doctor approached the security guard and introduced himself as a new recruit. However, the security guards became suspicious of his behaviour and called the police.
