Paradip: Police on Saturday raided a fake mosquito repellent stick manufacturing unit at Tarinigada of Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district and apprehended its owner.
Reportedly, the accused Rabindra Nayak and his son Bikash had been manufacturing and distributing the mosquito repellent sticks by using fake logos and stickers of Karnataka-based Sleep Well Mosquito Repellent.
Based on a complaint in this regard, an investigation team from Mumbai arrived in Odisha and tested the samples of the mosquito repellent sticks distributed by Rabindra.
After getting the test results, the team with help of Paradip Police conducted a raid at the said factory and seized all the equipment and raw materials. While Rabindra was held, his son and others managed to escape.
The accused was selling the fake mosquito repellent sticks under the name of Sleep Well Mosquito Repellent at a cheaper price and using low grade and harmful materials.
