FANI Aftermath: Indian Navy Carrying Out Relief Operations In Puri, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Navy has been carrying out relief operations in the cyclone-hit Puri district and Bhubaneswar city with three warships stationed at the Odisha coast for the last few days, informed Naval officer Captain Saroj Pradhan on Thursday.

While helicopters from the warships are air-dropping relief materials at Puri beach and nearby villages, the Indian Navy also distributed 9000 litres of bottled water at different locations in Bhubaneswar on May 7 and 9, as requested by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), said Pradhan.

Similarly, an Indian Naval community kitchen has been set up in Puri where both lunch and dinner are being provided to over 2000 persons. The service has started from May 5 and will continue till the situation turns normal, he added.
