FANI Assistance Provided To 1919 Street Vendors In Cuttack

Cuttack: Around 1919 street vendors of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) affected in the extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI were provided with an assistance of RS 10,000 each on Thursday.

Housing & Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena provided individual cheques of the said amount to the beneficiaries in a meeting held at Rajabagicha Playground in Cuttack.

After the meeting, Jena informed that the State Government is also taking steps to set up more vending zones in Cuttack city. Presently, new vending zones are to be established at seven places in the city.

He asserted that the State Government is also taking steps for the beautification of the city. While around 40 acres of land has been integrated for expansion of SCB Medical College & Hospital, a new city is to be developed on 440 acres of land starting from Hadia Patha or Bali Jatra ground to Odisha State Maritime Museum.

“As Cuttack city is the birthplace of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, it is close to his heart. We are grateful for all kind of support he is providing and for all the schemes undertaken for development of the city,” said Jena.
