Farmer Electrocuted

Bhubaneswar: A 60-year-old farmer was electrocuted while on his way to his agricultural field in Kuspangi village under Banki tehsil in Cuttack district late Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Gandharba Ghadai, a resident of Kuspangi.

According to reports, Ghadai had gone to inspect his field when he reportedly slipped and accidentally came into contact with a live wire, which had been laid as a trap by hunters targeting wild pigs.

The incident came to light on Saturday after Ghadai failed to return home overnight. Concerned, his family began searching for him and eventually discovered his body. They immediately alerted the police and the electricity department.

Upon receiving the information, teams from both departments reached the spot and launched an investigation.
