Farmer Trampled To Death By Wild Tusker In Odisha

Dhenkanal: a fresh case of human-animal conflict in the state, a farmer was trampled to death by a wild tusker in Panigengutia village under Dihadol forest section of Mahabirod range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

The deceased has been identified as Fakir Bhoi of the same village. He was working on his fields when the wild tusker attacked him.

The farmer died on the spot. Forester Prafulla Kumar Sethi reached the spot and retrieved the body.

The villagers demanded action on the part of the forest officials to take prompt measures to avoid such man-animal conflict which has been claiming lives of a number of people in the past few months.
