Bhubaneswar: A fast food shop owner was attacked with sharp weapons by some miscreants at Chakeisiani market in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday evening for refusing to pay extortion money.
Reportedly, fast food owner Jiban Jyoti Mohanty was at his shop when four miscreants arrived and demanded extortion money.
As Jiban refused, the four miscreants took out sharp weapons and started attacking him. Jiban started running from the spot, however, the miscreants chased him and kept attacking him.
Jiban was later rushed to the hospital for treatment. On being informed, the police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter to nab the culprits.
Similarly on the evening of October 16, some miscreants vandalized a bakery shop near Satyanagar Big Bazaar.
According to the complaint of owner Prabodh Sundray, six to seven youths came to his shop and took parcels for 30 people. At that time, Prabodh and his wife Sasmita were in the shop.
When Prabodh asked them to pay, they had an argument with Prabodh about this. However, the youths left without paying.
After some time, about 15 people gathered there and vandalized the shop. They also attacked Prabodh with sharp weapons.
