Keonjhar: A man and his eight-year-old daughter on Tuesday were critically injured in elephant attack in Jaladiha village of Tarmakanta panchayat under Bhuyan Juanga Pidha range in Keonjhar forest division.
Both the man and his daughter have been admitted to the Community Health Centre at Banspal. The condition of the minor girl is stated to be grave.
According to reports, Pradip Munda of Manika Sahi of Jaladiha village along with his eight-year-old daughter Sasmita had gone to take bath in the Ranimaa nullah in the afternoon today.
While the father and daughter were returning on bicycle after taking bath at the nullah, they were attacked by a tusker.
Under the impact of the tusker’s attack Pradip fell off the bicycle, while Sasmita who was pillion riding fell along with the bicycle.
The elephant lifting the bicycle with its trunk attacked Sasmita fracturing her right hand and right leg.
