Boudh: A man and his son were arrested for allegedly trying to set on fire the Mundeswar Reserve Forest under Madhapur Forest Range in Boudh district.
The accused have been identified as Asana Majhi and his son Shyamghana Majhi of Madhapur Colony Sahi.
Reportedly, during a patrolling in the forest last night, forest personnel noticed smoke emanating from four places in the forest. On inquiry, they found the two accused have set the fire.
Asana and his son attempted to flee the spot but the forest personnel including Ranger Saroj Kumar Mishra and forester Swadhin Samal nabbed them and seized matchsticks and two axes from their possession.
