Khordha:  A female elephant was found dead at Dalatola Kanibari village under the Begunia block in Khordha district, with preliminary investigations suggesting electrocution as the likely cause of death.

On a tip-off, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause behind the elephant’s death.

Forest officials suspect that the elephant might have died due to electrocution while searching for food. The pachyderm might have come in contact with a live electric wire connected to a farm and died.
