Khurda: A ferry with 20 passengers onboard was stuck in Chilika lake on Sunday morning. The incident took place while the ferry with two buses, more than 10 two-wheelers and passengers was travelling from Satpada to Janhikuda.
According to reports, the incident was caused due to reducing water level on this stretch in Chilika lake. On January 20, a similar incident took place when 50 passengers were travelling on a ferry on this route.
Efforts are on to push the stranded ferry and make it move towards Janhikuda. A barge carrying heavy equipment are pressed into action to expedite the rescue, reports added.
