Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ease travel during the festival rush, Indian Railways has announced the operation of weekly special trains between Visakhapatnam and Shalimar.
According to the East Coast Railway (ECoR) notification, the special trains will run from Visakhapatnam every Tuesday at 11:20 am until October 21, 2025, and from Shalimar every Wednesday at 5:00 am until October 22, 2025.
The train will make stops at several major stations along the way, including Simhachalam, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Kharagpur. To cater to diverse passenger needs, the train will have a mix of classes, including AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class, ensuring a comfortable journey for all.
These special trains aim to provide additional travel options and alleviate congestion on regular trains during the festive season. With more seats available, passengers can look forward to a smoother and more convenient journey to their destinations. The special trains will undoubtedly help ease the travel woes of passengers during this busy period.
