Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited various Durga Puja pandals in Bhubaneswar on Friday, accompanied by his wife Priyanka Marandi.
According to an official release, Majhi visited as many as nine Durga Puja pandals in Bhubaneswar today, spreading festive cheer and well-wishes. His first stop was the historic Patnasahi puja mandap in Old Town, where he sought blessings from Goddess Durga.
Majhi first visited the Patana Sahi Puja Mandap which is celebrating its 75th Sharadiya Durga Puja this year.
The Chief Minister then proceeded to other pandals in Sundarpada, Baramunda, Nayapalli, Sahid Nagar, Rasulgarh, Station Bazaar and Laxmi Sagar among others.
While speaking to the media, Majhi said, “With the arrival of Goddess Durga, the earth has become festive. The puja is being held with great enthusiasm at various pandals in Bhubaneswar.”
He further added, “I feel blessed to have darshan of Maa Durga on Ashtami. I prayed for the welfare, peace, prosperity, and development of four and half crore people of Odisha.”
The CM was felicitated by several puja committees during his visit to puja mandaps.
