Fine To Be Imposed On Police Personnel Violating MV Act In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Fine is to be imposed on the police personnel who were noticed violating norms of Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019 in some videos that went viral on social media recently.

Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Saturday informed that the police personnel in the videos have been identified. They have been asked to give an explanation and steps are being taken to penalise them.

“As police personnel they should set an example for upholding the norms. But they are also human beings and have done a mistake. We will warn them and take stringent action against them,” said Sarangi.

After introduction of heavy penalties under the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019, public have set their eyes on police personnel who are violating the norms blatantly and videos of such violations are being circulated on social media.
