**Bhubaneswar:** Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD)’s MLA Prasant Jagdeb once again hogs the headlines for wrong reason.
An FIR has been filed against the Begunia MLA at the Capital Police Station on Wednesday by the Friends Foundation Trust here at the capital city for allegedly misbehaving doctors and police personnel while discharging their duty by misusing his power.
Babita Kar, Secretary, Friends Foundation Trust, told OMMCOM NEWS, “On 17th night when the fire mishap took place at SUM Hospital, we were all present at the Capital Hospital. Chief Minister had also come there. Some people had died following which all police officials and media persons were busy in their duty. At that time, Begunia MLA Prasant Jagdeb came and was hell bent on taking one person’s dead body. Police personnel and doctors said that the body could be handed over after post mortem. Protesting it, he misbehaved ACP Asim Panda, IIC Manas Pattanik and IIC Banita Maharana and some doctors. No action has been taken against him yet by the State Government. Hence, we’re filing an FIR by our Trust to investigate into the incident how the police personnel and doctors on duty are being assaulted by misusing power.”
Notably, the MLA was in news when he and his men were captured on camera by media thrashing BJP activists in Manamunda of Boudh district when they were showing black flags to ministers Sanjay Das Burma and Pushpendra Singhdeo.
Recently a video went viral in the social media showing him abusing some persons on the roadside even calling names of Sanjay Das Burma and BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Despite efforts, the MLA could not be contacted by OMMCOM NEWS for his reactions on the case.
