Nabarangpur: A fire broke out in an extension room at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Pujariguda of Nabarangpur district, on Tuesday.
According to a doctor at the CHC, Patitapaban Dwivedi stated that the fire started in the extension room, as reported by an attendant. Upon receiving this information, we immediately rushed to the spot and tried to control the fire with the help of security personnel, who were using a fire extinguisher, but we could not control the flames.
“We immediately contacted the Fire Brigade and during that time, we evacuated the patients and locals. The indoor patients were moved to a safe, distant room. The fire team arrived soon after and managed to control the flames,” said the doctor.
He further stated that no one was injured, “We have investigated and found that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit,” he added.
