Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out in a four-storied building near the Bhawani Mall in the Sahid Nagar area of the capital city on Monday morning. Four persons were trapped in a spa operating from the second floor of the building.
Three teams of Fire Services personnel struggled hard to rescue the four persons and bring the blaze under control.
According to reports, some people noticed smoke billowing out of the building and informed the Fire Services department. On their arrival, the Fire Services personnel gave top priority to rescuing those trapped inside the building along with dousing the flames. They succeeded in rescuing the four trapped people from the fourth floor of the building by shifting them to an adjacent building with the help of a ladder. No one was injured.
It is suspected that the fire originated from a bar and restaurant operating from the basement of the building. Having doused the flames and rescued the trapped people, the Fire Services department has now launched an investigation to ascertain the source of the fire.
