Bhubaneswar: Fire broke out at an engineering and medical coaching center at Tamando, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

The blaze erupted on the fourth floor of Sri Chaitany Institute for Science. The unused mattress in the 4th floor caught fire due to an electric short-circuit, fire department said.

The institute authorities immediately informed the fire tender unit which rushed to the spot and launched an operation. After hour-long operation, the fire was completely doused.

We extinguished the fire completely with too much hardship amid thick smoke. Due to prompt action, we were able to stop the expansion of fire to other floors as well,” a statement issued by the fire department said.
