Puri: A major fire broke out at the Adam Electric Vehicle Showroom located at Madhipur Chowk near Konark on Wednesday, destroying nearly 30 electric vehicles and causing extensive property damage. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

According to initial reports, the blaze began while an electric scooter was being charged inside the showroom. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire premises within minutes. Customers and staff managed to escape safely before the flames intensified.

Firefighters from the Konark Champahar fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched an extensive operation to bring the situation under control. As of late evening, fire personnel continued efforts to fully douse the flames and prevent further damage.

The incident has raised serious concerns about fire safety compliance in commercial establishments. It remains unclear whether the showroom had functional fire extinguishers or safety equipment in place at the time of the incident.

Authorities are expected to launch an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and examine whether there were violations of safety norms. Officials have also indicated that stricter enforcement measures may be introduced to prevent similar incidents in the future.
