Fire Personnel To Remain On Alert To Prevent Accidents During Holi

Bhubaneswar: Fire Service will remain on alert for Holi tomorrow to ensure that no untoward incident occurs in the city.

The Fire Service Department has formed special teams for this purpose. Each team will have six members. Five places have been identified as vulnerable to drowning-related accidents.

These places are the bathing ghats of  Kuakhai, Daya rivers, Puri Canal, Balipatna siphon and Bankual.   Fire Service personnel will remain on alert, especially at these places.

“We will be deploying our rescue teams, especially at bathing ghats where accidents occur. Prominent among these are river Daya, river Kuakhai, Puri canal, Balipatna siphon, and Balianta. These teams will be equipped with lifebuoys, life jackets, scuba sets, underwater buoys, machine rubber boats, rescue lines, underwater buoys, etc, ” informed Deputy Fire Officer Abani Kumar Swain.
