Fire Service Dept Conducts Fire Drills At SUM, KIMS, Aditya Ashwini Hospitals

Bhubaneswar: A day after fire mishap at Covid Hospital in Cuttack, the Fire Service Department conducted fire drills at SUM, KIMS and Aditya Ashwini hospitals in Bhubaneswar, today.

The fire service personnel also undertook audits, mock evacuation and capacity building of the staff in the hospitals. Bhubaneswar Circle’s DFO, AFO and SO led the drill.

Yesterday afternoon, a major fire broke out at the dedicated Sadguru COVID Hospital at Jagatpur in Cuttack city. Electric short circuit in a faulty air conditioner at the ICU was suspected to be the reason behind the cause of the fire.

The prompt action of Odisha Fire Service personnel not only helped to timely douse the fire but also saved the lives of the staff and 127 patients.
