Mayurbhanj: A fire services constable sustained critical burn injuries after a colleague allegedly threw hot water on him following an altercation between them over late coming to the office.
The incident took place at Bangiriposi fire station in Mayurbhanj district. The injured havildar has been identified as Dushmanta Kumar Dehuri.
According to sources, Dehuri reported late to work on Sunday night, prompting a verbal confrontation with another havildar, Nutan Mallick. Even after scolding, his anger did not recede. In a fit of rage, he threw hot water on his colleague Dehuri.
His legs sustained severe burn injuries. His co-workers rescued Dehuri in critical condition and rushed him to Bangiriposhi Community Health Centre. He was later rushed to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
Dehuri said, “I got late to reach the office which angered Mallick and he threw hot water on me. ”
