Bhubaneswar: A devastating firecracker explosion at Mahajanpur village under Jagatpur police station has claimed the lives of a three-year-old girl and her mother, who succumbed to critical burn injuries at SCB Medical College and Hospital. Another person is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening when a firecracker suddenly exploded while being stored at a residence, severely injuring the two women and the child. The victims were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where the mother and child died. The third person remains in critical condition.
Police are investigating the cause of the mishap, with locals expressing shock over the incident. Doctors are closely monitoring the injured person’s health.
