Kendrapara: In a massive crackdown on illegal manufacturing and storage of firecrackers ahead of Diwali, Kendrapara Town police on Thursday seized firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees. Police have detained one person in this connection.
According to reports, Kendrapara Town police on Thursday conducted a surprise raid on Rajesh Season House in Nasadipur village leading to the seizure of firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees. One person has been detained by the police in this connection.
It is worth mentioning here that the Supreme Court Tuesday ordered a ban on firecrackers across India, saying the directions against the use of barium and banned chemicals in firecrackers are applicable to all states and not just Delhi-NCR.
The apex court has directed the state governments to take appropriate steps to control air and noise pollution.
