Puri: The first coordination meeting of Rath Yatra 2022 was held here on Monday. RDC Central Division Suresh Chandra Dalei presided over the meeting in which MLA Jayant Sarangi, IG Police, Central Range, Narasingha Bhol, Secretary, Daitapati Nijog Ramkrushna Das Mohapatra and senior servitors were present.
It was decided at the meeting that there will be a permanent solution to address the scarcity of wood for building the chariots. Shree Jagannath Bana Prakalpa (Jagannath forest project) will be revived and another meeting will be held with DFOs to come up with a solution.
This year, around 12 to 15 lakh people will be coming to Puri during Rath Yatra. Keeping this in mind, the administration has been asked to ensure the availabilty of water, electricity, sanitation, medical facilities, etc. Total 14 temporary medical centres will be setup at Bada Danda and 29 ambulances will be stationed, said Dalei.
The Works Department will carry out maintenance work of 63 kms road network in the town before June 20. Besides, 29 parking spots have been identified for Rath Yatra. On Snana Purnima, 65 platoons force, under the supervision of 200 DSP-ranked officers, and 50 Additional SPs will be deployed, said Bhol.
