Jeypore: The first trial flight from Bhubaneswar to Jeypore in Koraput district started on Wednesday. An IndiaOne Air flight took off from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 10.15 am. The expected flight duration is 45 minutes.
Reportedly, a three-member team of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had recently reviewed the feasibility of the flight operations between Jeypore and Bhubaneswar and gave the green signal. As a result, a 9-seater airline commenced its trial flight today.
Jeypore airstrip will be the third to get the civil aviation airport tag in the State after Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda. The trial run was conducted ahead of the commencement of the commercial flight services between the two cities.
