Dhenkanal: Kapilash Forest Range personnel arrested five persons and seized two deer antlers and four country-made guns from their possession. They have been identified as Naba Balmuchi, Budu Balmuchi, Ratna Balmuchi, Kurupa Baipi and Sanatan Dehury.
All the five persons belong to Gondia in the district.
According to the Forest officials incriminating materials used in hunting such as a headlamp, meat cutting scales and 100 traps were also recovered from their possession. The accused were booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and forwarded to the Court today.
