Five Children Fall Critically Ill After Consuming Poisonous Fruits

Bhubaneswar: Five tribal children fell critically ill consuming poisonous fruits of a tree in Aruha village of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday evening.

According to reports, while playing outside their homes, some children from the tribal community of Sahi near Aruha Haat consumed some poisonous fruits. Soon they complained of uneasiness and vomited. Villagers rushed them to the Dharmashala Medical Center but shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.

While the children are recovering gradually, they are unable to identify the poisonous fruit. As a result, the doctors at the SCB Medical Collage and Hospital are unable to diagnose their condition.
