**Balasore: ** In a successful breakthrough, the principal accused of the heinous Paganai murder case, Ramesh Majhi, a forest guard under Nilgiri division, was arrested by the police on Sunday night along with four other accused persons.
His brother Umesh is another co-accused and now is out of reach of police. A total number of 14 persons are suspected to be directly involved in this murder and two other supported it.
Notably, in a barbaric incident on Saturday night, a woman named Pratibha Mandal including her teenaged son, daughter and nephew were found brutally hacked to death with sharp objects in their house in the wee hours of Saturday. It is suspected that around eight to 10 miscreants had come in a fleet of motorcycles on that fateful night and executed the crime.
The police started a manhunt after that and have presently detained five accused in this murder case. It is suspected that the reason behind this gruesome killing may be previous enmity for land dispute.
