Bhubaneswar: At least five persons sustained injuries after getting involved in a violent scuffle over gambling in Puri today morning. The incident was an outcome of a dispute that arose last night while a group was gambling at Kadipada Melana in the market on the Grand Road.
In a bid to avenge the course of events which occured on Friday night, today morning at around 6:30 am, at least 20 youths from one group attack three of the other.
In this attack, five persons sustained injuries while, three of them are serious. They were identified as Khageswar Sahu, Hrushikesh Panda and Sameer.
The injured persons were rushed to the district headquarters hospital and are undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the Puri Town police arrived at the spot and has registered a case in this connection.
