Bhawanipatna: Five persons fell seriously ill after consuming wild mushrooms at Babeguda village under Golamunda block in Kalahandi district on Wednesday.
The injured persons including two women and three men have been admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Dharmagarh.
According to reports, Bidyadhar of Babeguda village had gone to his field on Tuesday. On seeing mushrooms sprouting in the field, Bidyadhar collected them.
After reaching home, his family cooked the mushroom and they had it with their meal. Some time after eating the mushroom all members in Bidyadhar’s family developed diarrhoea.
As their condition deteriorated the family rushed to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Dharmagarh and got themselves admitted.
