Cuttack: Ahead of Hanuman Jayanti, the Commissionerate Police in Cuttack has put in place stringent security arrangements across the city, anticipating large gatherings and processions.
According to police sources, two major rallies and city-wide processions will be organised by Hindu Sena and Hindu Jagaran Manch on the occasion. In response, the police have adopted extensive precautionary measures to maintain law and order.
Strict guidelines have been issued to curb the circulation of inflammatory and divisive content on social media. Surveillance has been intensified with the installation of CCTV cameras and deployment of drones along key procession routes. In addition, plain-clothes personnel will be stationed at sensitive locations, while armed police will be positioned on rooftops to monitor the situation.
More than 20 platoons of additional forces have been deployed to ensure security during the festivities. As part of preparatory measures, a flag march was conducted in the city on Saturday involving one platoon of the Border Security Force (BSF), four platoons of the Odisha State Armed Police, and senior police officials.
Police officials said the visible security presence is aimed at instilling confidence among residents and deterring anti-social elements. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring peaceful observance of the festival.
