Flesh Trade Racket Busted In Rourkela’s Civil Township; 3 Sex Workers Rescued

Rourkela: In a major crackdown, Raghunathpali police have busted a sex racket operating from a house in the posh Civil Township area of the city.

Three sex workers were rescued and three middlemen were arrested during the raid.

Following the rescue, the women were taken to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for medical examination and later shifted to the Sakhhi Centre on the hospital premises for rehabilitation and counselling.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain how long the racket had been operating and to trace the origins of the rescued women. Preliminary reports suggest the sex workers may have been brought from outside the city.

This is not the first such incident in Rourkela. Similar rackets have been busted in recent months in Chhend Colony, Sector 16, and Jagda areas, pointing to an organised network operating across different parts of the city.

Police have intensified surveillance in residential areas to curb such illegal activities and ensure swift action against those involved in human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
