Bhubaneswar: An Air Asia flight from Bengaluru to Kolkata landed at Bhubaneswar late night on Saturday due to a medical emergency.
According to reports, a passenger collapsed onboard following which the flight (Air Asia 2472) landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), the Air Asia flight at around 7:30 am.
The sick passenger identified as Taimur Ali Khan, a native of West Bengal, was first attended by local doctors at the terminal. He was shifted to Capital Hospital where Khan was declared dead.
Khan (28) was a native of Kotebarh in Bhagwanpur-I of Purba Medinipur district in West Bengal. Local police have registered a case of unnatural death and the family of Khan have been informed about the mishap, said reports.
