Puri: A floating barge (vessel) with more than 60 passengers got stuck in Chilika lake today afternoon. The reason behind the incident was stated as a technical glitch in the vessel’s engine.
The barge was carrying five four-wheelers and around two dozen motorcycles. It departed from Satpada at 2:15 pm for Janhikuda ghat.
However, midway the engine of the barge stopped functioning because of which the passengers were stranded. Till the last reports came, a team from Chilika Development Authority was on the spot for repairing the vessel.
