Dhenkanal: The death toll in flood-related incidents in the State rose to 10 as a youth drowned while taking a bath near Baba Budheshwar temple in Ward Number 4 of Bhuban NAC in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased, Vishal Gocchayat had gone to take a bath near temple yesterday but never made it back home. His family alerted the local officials, who then started a search operation.
Today morning, as the water level receded, the rescuers spotted his body 500 metres away from the temple in an empty field. The body was then sent for post mortem.
In rain, flood and wall collapse related incidents, four persons have so far died in Mayurbhanj district, two in Keonjhar and one person have died each in Sundergarh and Nuapada districts.
