**Bhubaneswar**: Flood situation in northern Odisha districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur has improved on Wednesday as water level of river Baitarini started receding.
Speaking to the media, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi said water level of Baitarini has started falling from last night giving a sigh of relief to thousands of people in the region.
“Though several acres of crop land were submerged due to heavy rains flood water hasn’t entered into any villages with no loss of properties in Bhadark and Jajpur districts,” informed the SRC.
As many as 27 villages of five panchayats under Dhamnagar block and 25 villages of Bhandaripokhari block have been affected due to flash flood.
People of Balasore should not be worried as water level of Subarnarekha river is also on decreasing trend even as the river swelled last night.
