Bhubaneswar: The Fakir Mohan University in Balasore has emerged as one of the top government higher educational institutions in terms of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading.
The NAAC peer team which recently evaluated the varsity gave an institutional Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.18 to the State’s leading university. The CGPA helped the varsity get the ‘A’ rank.
The team evaluated the research infrastructure, innovation and extension besides teaching-learning and curricular aspects. The panel found improvement of the institute in comparison to the 2016 assessment during which the varsity had received B+ rank.
The NAAC peer team visited the university earlier this month to evaluate it for its second cycle of assessment. During the last cycle of assessment in 2016, it scored B+. This time, it has improved its marks in research, innovation, and extension besides teaching-learning and curricular aspects.
Recently, the Utkal University in Bhubaneswar dropped in NAAC grading from A+ to A.
