Jagatsinghpur: A folk artist was killed and six others were seriously injured when a cargo auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near Bagheipur on the Dasabatia-Bagheipur road under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur district today afternoon.
The deceased folk artist has been identified as Indra Gochhayat of Naharana village. The injured have been shifted to Balikuda Community Health Centre (CHC).
According to reports, the deceased and the injured were members of ‘Ghoda Naccha’ team of Balipatna village under Balikuda block. The team was on its way to perform at an awareness programme under the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ programme of the state government when it met with the accident.
Balikuda police have launched an investigation into the incident.
