Bhubaneswar: Minister for Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Krushna Chandra Patra made surprise visits to various godowns and mills in Boudh and Sonepur districts.
At Ranisati Mill and Central PEG Godown in Boudh, he unearthed irregularities, including recycling low-quality, pest-infested rice and fraudulent weighing practices.
Patra expressed displeasure and directed officials to address the supply of substandard rice. He also visited Lalita Rice Mill and Sheetal Rice Mill in Shialijuri of Sonepur and investigated the allegations of irregularities.
Following the visits, Patra attended a review meeting to discuss district-related issues with officials, including the Supply Officer and Marketing Inspector.
