Malkangiri: In a joint operation, the forest teams of Malkangiri, Chitrakonda, Motu, and Balimela Ranges conducted a raid at MV-24 village in Malkangiri Range, seizing 61 timber planks suspected to be illegally possessed for trading.
Four individuals were arrested and produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court for further proceedings.
In a separate operation, forest staff from Chitrakonda Range seized 48 Sissoo sizes during foot patrolling at Matamkonda PRF. The seized timber has been taken into custody at the range office.
