Forest Dept Seizes Timber Worth Rs 30 Lakh In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: The Keonjhar Forest Department, led by the District Forest Officer, conducted a massive raid in Santrapur village under Ghatagaon block in Keonjhar district early this morning and seized timber worth Rs 30 lakh.

As per reports, the team, comprising 3 ACFs, 4 Rangers, and over 60 forest officials, raided Santrapur village, a known hub for timber smuggling, and seized valuable timber, including sal, piasal, gamari, and saguan, worth over Rs 30 lakh.

The raid lasted around five hours. A platoon of police forces assisted in the operation.

The Forest Department has informed that the seized timber amounts to approximately 900 to 1000 CFT (cubic feet).
