Mayurbhanj: Acting on the orders of Similipal Tiger Conservation Project Director and Regional Chief Conservator of Forests Dr Prakash Chand Gogineni special team of the department recovered the tusks of two elephants from the possession of a man and arrested the accused on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Raghunath Pingua (31) of Bagdega under the Yashipur police station in Gadshimilipal.
According to reports, elephants were hunted by poachers near the sand dunes of Jenabil Ranger, Gurundia, and Pietabatta range on 2022 December 2022 and February 2023 respectively. The authorities said that the another accused involved in the crime is absconding and will be arrested soon.
