Forest Guard Caught With Suspected Ill-Gotten Cash In Nabarangpur

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today caught a forest guard in Nabarangpur district for possession of ill-gotten cash of Rs 1.53 lakh.

On a tip-off, a team of Odisha vigilance intercepted Binayak Sori, Forest Guard of Nandahandi Beat, while he was traveling in a motorcycle from Khatiguda to Jagannathpur near Kapur dam of Indrabati project in Nabarangpur.  The agency found Rs.1.53 lakh cash from his possession.

As Sori could not account for it satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized. Following the interception, house search is being carried out at one location of the forest guard from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, vigilance said in a statement.
